Hosted by House of Upcycling founder Chris Billinghurst, master furniture refinisher & upcycler, retailer, educator and one half of the Painters' Business Academy partnership, Kate Holt of Colour Me KT and expert furniture artist, surface design prodigy, restorer and educator Amy Slack of Pinkyswifts. This is a unique opportunity to join a workshop that will inspire and inform like no other, helping you to create a functional professional upcycling studio and turn your dreams of running your own business into a reality.

Chris Billinghurst

Founder of the UK's leading authority on professional upcycling for interiors, Chris has a wealth of industry and business knowledge gained from over a decade supporting and promoting professional upcycling. She'll be sharing her experience of branding, marketing (including social media), business planning, taking part in events, selling online and much more besides. This is a unique opportunity to learn from and engage with one of the professional upcycling for interiors industry's prominent thought-leaders and reformers.

Kate Holt | Colour Me KT

A key figure within the professional upcycling industry, Kate's expertise in furniture painting and refinishing is almost legend. Not only successful in her own business, alongside business partner Sarah Pelley, Kate created the first conference dedicated to the furniture refinishing industry, now in its third year. She is a senior member of the House of Upcycling and one of their British Institute of Interior Design Industry Partner Ambassadors. Her incredible upcycling centre in Hoddesdon is where our first workshop will take place.

Amy Slack | Pinkyswifts

Amy is a professional artisan with a unique design outlook and an impressive set of creative and business skills. A talented furniture artist dedicated to making homes vibrant and unique places to live, her work has been showcased at many national and local events. Amy's products were chosen to appear on the House of Upcycling stand during London's Design Festival 2022 as well as Grand Designs Live, Birmingham and London, where she repeatedly demonstrated her upcycling skills to packed audiences.
